AKRON — D-A Specialty Co. Inc., one of Akron’s longest-standing family-owned businesses, is celebrating its 90th anniversary. D-A Specialty Co. Inc. is a fourth-generation family-owned wholesale restaurant, janitorial and equipment supply company based in Akron. Founded in 1935, the company has evolved from a wholesale grocery store into a supplier for hospitality and service-related businesses.
“Being part of the fourth generation is an honor,” said Bruno Ricchiuti. “My family built this company through sacrifice, grit and a lot of heart. We grew up in these aisles, watching our parents and grandparents serve this community with pride. To help carry that legacy forward — and to keep supporting the restaurants, hotels and businesses that rely on us every day — means everything to us.”
