Summit County Sheriff Recovers $110,000, Warns Of Cryptocurrency Fraud, Urges Caution for Online Investments

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office recently recovered $110,000 connected to a cryptocurrency fraud case and is renewing its warning to residents across the county—including the Nordonia Hills area—about the dangers of online investment schemes and cryptocurrency fraud.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a City of Green resident reported on October 8, 2025, that they had been the victim of a cryptocurrency investment fraud, suffering a significant financial loss. Detectives with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation using detailed information and financial records provided by the victim.

Working in partnership with the Jackson Township Police Department’s cryptocurrency recovery “Trace Team,” investigators were able to follow the digital money trail and successfully recover $110,000 of the stolen funds…
