Attempt to block Brook Park plan means practically handing the Browns to another state

With the Browns lease up at Huntington Bank Field after 2028, will the team move to Brook Park? It seems that city, county, and certain state politicians keep trying their best to lose the Browns to another city in another state. Now, we can add high-profile lawyers and a Franklin County Common Pleas judge to that list.

Cities such as San Antonio, Austin, and St. Louis meet the criteria for an NFL team, and while some people don’t care if the Browns leave, the troubled Browns are one of the few tangible economic and cultural drivers of Cleveland — even if they’re playing in Brook Park. Dare I include civic “pride” in that asset description?

Judge Bill Sperlazza has temporarily halted a $600 million state funding distribution out of $4.8 billion in unclaimed funds because the client of the two high-profile lawyers can’t get an unclaimed paycheck? Since we like identity politics, it seems like every entity pushing the Browns out of town are Democrats, right down to these lawyers and judge. I’m certain the Browns will pay the plaintiff what that person thinks is owed in exchange for lifting the judge’s 14-day halt on transfer of the unclaimed money for the Browns…
