Thousands without power in Northeast Ohio amid strong winds

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Thousands of people are in the dark Monday morning as strong winds blow through Northeast Ohio.

According to FirstEnergy, more than 17,000 customers are without power as of 1:30 p.m. The utility’s outage map shows the majority are in Cuyahoga County with more than 5,500 outages.

Additional outage numbers:

  • Ashtabula: 2,600
  • Geauga: 2,400
  • Lake: 2,500
