Thousands without power, lake-effect snow warning issued

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Thousands of customers across Northeast Ohio were without power Monday afternoon as strong winds and heavy snow moved through the region.

FirstEnergy Corp. reported outages across Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties, as wind gusts reached 60 mph. Much of the Cleveland area is under a high wind warning and a winter weather advisory. Geauga County is also under a lake-effect snow warning.

As of 2:04 p.m., there were 5,173 customers without power in Cuyahoga, 1,224 in Geauga and 2,583 in Lake. Cleveland Public Power is not reporting any widespread issues on its online outage map…
