CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cities across Northeast Ohio have opened warming centers and overnight shelters for those who need to escape the artic air that surged into the region with snow, bitter cold, and high winds.
WARMING CENTERS
Bay Village
With several power outages impacting a few hundred residents across Bay Village amid the extreme cold, the community room at the Bay Village Police Department has been opened as a warming center and place to recharge your devices.
Cuyahoga County has an interactive map for residents to find a nearby warming center.
Anyone who needs immediate help should call 211.
Friendly pets are welcome at The Metanonia Project.
“Both sites can accommodate up to 40 individuals nightly and will serve guests on a first-come, first-served basis,” Cuyahoga County Office of the Executive shared. “In addition to safe overnight accommodations, guests will have access to meals, warm clothing, and hygiene supplies, restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities.”
