Ravenna SWAT Standoff Leads to Arrest of Two on Aggravated Robbery Charges

Early on the last day of December, a robbery incident escalated into a tense standoff with SWAT in Ravenna, leading to the arrest of two individuals. According to WKYC, a 33-year-old resident arrived at the Ravenna Police Department at 6:44 a.m., reporting an assault and robbery which had purportedly taken place at an apartment complex on West Main Street, visibly injured with facial wounds and still bleeding from the said attack.

The victim, transported to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center by Ravenna Fire EMS, had been allegedly preparing to leave the apartment after spending the night when the assault occurred and reported being robbed of $400 in cash and a cell phone as was spotted at the scene bleeding from facial injuries though what exact events transpired just before the police were enlisted by the victim remains a detail yet to be fully established. This information was corroborated by a news release from the police department. The Cleveland 19 source further adds that Metro SWAT was activated and responded to the scene shortly before noon after a thorough initial investigation.

Upon arrival at the specified apartment, the SWAT team made their presence known using a loudspeaker, issuing commands, and using two explosive distraction devices. After which, the suspects surrendered and opened the door. The accused parties, identified as Jasman A. Al-Shwqiyqt, 31, of Ravenna, and Sebastian T. Facemire, 25, of Akron, were thereby arrested and have been charged with first-degree felony aggravated robbery, according to Record-Courier…
