CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — If winter weather coaxes you inside, check out several indoor presentations this coming weekend. The mix of speakers and topics will keep you on your toes.

Fairmount Center for the Arts kicks off its 2026 Pull Back the Curtin series with a talk 3-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 featuring Louren Stenroos. She will reflect on her 20 years in dance and share her journey from performer to rehearsal director at Cleveland Ballet. She will also offer insights on training, longevity and building a healthier dance world. The presentation will be held at the art center, 8400 Fairmount Rd. in Russell Township. Discover a rare beauty: Photographer and botanist Tom Sampliner will share the result of his explorations of Lake Plain 2-3 p.m., Sunday, January 11 at The West Woods Nature Center. His pursuit in prairies, forests and wetlands, uncovered both common and rare species, including some so rare that they are recognized on state and federal rare plant lists.
