Kent State University launches new BSN degree pathway

Kent State University will launch a new pathway for students without high school math, chemistry or biology credit who are seeking to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. increasing enrollment in the KSU College of Nursing, according to a news release.

Beginning in fall 2026, the new degree pathway, called the Foundational Entry concentration, will give students the opportunity to complete STEM prerequisites as part of their nursing program. An additional 125 first-year students are expected to enroll into KSU’s nursing program annually, having already generated the interest of around 100 prospective students, according to the release.

“We are thrilled to offer this new concentration to students who have the passion and dedication to become nurses but may not have had access to advanced science and math courses in high school,” Versie Johnson-Mallard, Henderson Memorial Endowed Leadership Chair and dean of Kent State’s College of Nursing, said in the release…
