Ohio announces state’s first measles cases, ‘outbreak’ of 2026

CINCINNATI, (WXIX) – Ohio health officials announced the state’s first measles cases Thursday, calling it an “outbreak.”

Three children in one household in Cuyahoga County are infected, according to Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Director Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff.

One of the three cases that is part of this outbreak had an illness onset date at the end of 2025, and the other two cases had onsets in 2026, he said…
