A winning Powerball ticket sold in Akron last summer has been claimed by a trust just weeks before the expiration date.
The Blessed Family Trust, represented by trustee Andrew J. Pfeifer, claimed the $2 million prize from the Aug. 27, 2025, drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K store located at 3520 S. Arlington Road.
Lottery officials said the ticket matched all five white balls—9, 12, 22, 41, and 61—but missed the red Powerball number of 25. While matching five white balls typically results in a $1 million prize, the ticketholder purchased the Power Play option, which doubled the prize to $2 million.
