2 men killed in Rootstown shooting: sheriff

ROOTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) — Two men died following a reported shooting Thursday in Rootstown Township, authorities said.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office responded to 911 call reporting shots fired at about 10 p.m. on Jan. 8 at a residence along Biltz Road, according to a news release.

Deputies found two men suffering from gunshot wounds lying on the floor, with a gun located between them, according to the release. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
