Medina County residents protest ICE on Medina Square

MEDINA — On Sunday, around 400 people gathered around Medina Square for an ICE Out for Good event hosted by Medina County Indivisible and Greater Wadsworth Indivisible.

The event took place at 12:30 p.m. at the Medina Square. Mosie Welch of Medina County Indivisible said the event was held in response to the death of Renee Good on Wednesday, January 7, after she was fatally shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

“I think what is so disturbing about how ICE is operating in our cities across our nation is that it is counterintuitive to how our federal officers are trained,” she said. “These are ICE agents who are out and masked in unmarked vehicles; we don’t even know what their training actually is, and the current administration is saying they have free rein.”…
