CANTON ‒ The city has honored a Walmart employee who is credited with saving the life of a police officer after a man suspected of shoplifting tried to shoot the officer on Dec. 18.
Loss prevention associate Conrad Piero was recognized on Jan. 12 for the actions he took after the suspect took out a gun, pointed it at patrolman P.J. Johnson and pulled the trigger. The gun didn’t go off because there was no bullet in the chamber.
