Trooper struck on I-76 W, taken to hospital

PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) — A trooper was struck on Interstate 76 westbound during a snowy morning commute Thursday, Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed to FOX 8 News.

The incident took place just after 10 a.m. near mile marker 39 near Milford Township, just south of Ravenna. The trooper was reportedly investigating a traffic accident that had taken place around 9:20 a.m. and was struck from behind while sitting in his cruiser.

The trooper was taken to the hospital for what are described as non-life threatening injuries.

It was not clear what led to the crash, but the driver of the other vehicle remained on scene, according to OSHP…
