OSHA investigating after 49-year-old industrial worker killed in accident at Akron machine company

CLEVELAND — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating after a 49-year-old worker was killed in an industrial accident at an Akron machine shop earlier this month.

According to a release from Gary Guenther, Summit County’s chief investigator in the medical examiner’s office, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident at Logan Machine Company on Jan. 6.

The employee, identified as 49-year-old Mykl Kofahl, was working at the machining shop when a large piece of steel fell and struck him, the medical examiner’s office said…
