The Akron Public Schools first State of the Schools address by superintendent Mary Outley has been rescheduled. The Akron Press Club announced Outlet requested the change. The address will now be on Tuesday, March 3 at Quaker Station in downtown Akron.
Outley, who became superintendent in April 2025 after serving in an interim role, leads a district of approximately 20,000 students. Her remarks come as Akron Public Schools faces a projected budget deficit, major building projects in Kenmore and North Hill, and ongoing changes to education policy at the state and federal levels.
