Solon man, seeking to help his grandson, is victim of scam

SOLON, Ohio — Solon police took a report about a so-called grandparent scam that cost a man wishing to help his grandson more than $5,000.

At noon Jan. 17, a Solon man, 81, reported that he had received a phone call from his “grandson.”

The fake grandson said he had been in a car accident and had been arrested because the person he hit was pregnant…
