MEDINA, Ohio – The city’s finance committee has approved a motion to ratify a three-year agreement with Teamsters Local 436 which represents city employees from multiple departments.
“This covers employees in our street, sanitation, water, park, cemetery, building, engineering and service departments,” Mayor Jim Shields said during a Jan. 26 finance committee meeting.
Earlier this year, the city approved a three-year collective bargaining agreement with the city’s patrol and communications officers that included a 4 percent pay increase in 2026 and a 3 percent pay increase in 2027 and 2028. Shields said the pay increase structure is a bit different for the Teamsters as the agreement calls for a 2 percent raise in 2026 and zero raises in 2027 and 2028…
