Evidence fight threatens to delay FirstEnergy bribery trial

AKRON, Ohio — Prosecutors handling the FirstEnergy bribery trial signified on Monday that they may file an appeal if a judge bars certain evidence in the case.

An appeal could push back the trial of two former FirstEnergy executives accused of bribing a state energy regulator. The trial began with jury selection last week and is heading toward opening statements on Tuesday.
