Regarding the Jan. 30 letter, “Selective compliance with the law helps fuel Minneapolis disorder,“ perhaps the name-withheld author, a retired engineer in Strongsville, believes we should still be subjects of the British monarchy. Or perhaps this person believes Blacks should still be three-fifth’s of a person and subject to enslavement. Or perhaps they believe women should not vote or hold public office. Or perhaps they were absent when those subjects, and many, many more were covered in school. Perhaps they should read a few more books.
Sorry sir, madam or other: There were and are multitudes of “unjust laws,” and it is the responsibility of the citizenry to reject and oppose them to the fullest extent possible. “Just ask Renee Good and Alex Pretti.”
