Of the top 50 paid Cuyahoga County employees in 2024, nearly half were sheriff’s employees, thanks to overtime pay.
One sheriff’s deputy retired that year with nearly $200,000 in overtime pay, bringing his total pay to over $312,000. (Public pensions are based in part on workers’ final average salary.)
