Northeast Ohio school districts face millions in budget cuts amid funding shortfalls

CLEVELAND — Public school districts across Northeast Ohio are confronting a growing financial crisis, with millions of dollars in budget cuts leading to staff reductions, larger class sizes and fewer student services.

From Elyria to Akron and Amherst, district leaders say a combination of lost state funding, property tax reform and failed levies is putting intense pressure on already strained budgets.
