Jackson Township driver sentenced for hitting ‘No Kings’ protester

MASSILLON ‒ A 77-year-old driver who struck a participant at a No Kings rally has learned his punishment for two traffic offenses tied to the Oct. 18 incident in Jackson Township.

On Feb. 11, Massillon Municipal Court Judge Andrea Scassa fined the Jackson Township resident $250 and ordered him to pay court costs, for a total of $536.

She suspended the man’s driver’s license for 180 days beginning with the date of the citation, Oct. 18, and put six points on his driving record. She gave him a 180-day jail sentence, which is suspended. The judge put him on probation for five years…
