3 hospitalized after Akron sinkhole nearly swallows car

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – Three people were taken to the hospital Friday night after a sinkhole in Akron nearly swallowed a car.

According to the City of Akron, at around 9:41 p.m., Akron firefighters responded to a call for a car in a sinkhole near 1151 North Howard Street.

Firefighters rescued the driver and took three people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Akron Police Department called to have the car towed out of the sinkhole…
