MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — Heads up! If your travels take you along I-71 in Medina County, there are big changes coming soon as the rest areas will be closed starting March 2 for crews to begin demolition of both the northbound and southbound locations.
It comes as the Ohio Department of Transportation says the rest areas will be converted “into a new truck parking facility.”
“There are additional rest areas within 30 miles of this location and upgrading these rest areas would have required a significant investment,” said ODOT District 3 Deputy Director Bob Weaver. “Converting them to truck parking will help to improve safety for all motorists along the I-71 corridor.”…
