RAVENNA − The victim’s mother asked for mercy in Portage County Common Pleas Court during the sentencing of the man who caused her son’s death in a traffic crash in October in Rootstown.
“As a mother, I don’t want another life destroyed in my son’s name,” Chelsea Blackerby told Judge Laurie J. Pittman during the Feb. 17 sentencing hearing of 19-year-old Freedom Township resident Kayden Michael Cline.
