CANTON, Ohio (WJW) — A man indicted on attempted murder, accused of pulling a gun on officers after being caught shoplifting in a Canton Walmart, faced a judge on Friday morning, Feb. 20.
Shane Newman, 21, of Canton, was indicted last week in the Stark County Common Pleas Court on felony charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, robbery, carrying concealed weapons and more.

At his arraignment Friday, he pleaded not guilty.
The incident happened in December, in the loss prevention office of the Atlantic Boulevard Northeast store, FOX 8 News previously reported.
