DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – A 78-year-old man pleaded guilty to murder after shooting a woman in a self-described “mercy killing” before driving to a Deerfield Township fire station, prosecutors said.
Gerald Olin Finley will spend 18 years to life in prison after he drove to Fire Station 57 on Sept. 7, 2025, and waved emergency crews to his car, where Emilia Vinokur, 79, was unresponsive with two gunshot wounds to the head, Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said.
