Ohio Weather Alert: 5 Inches of Lake Effect Snow to Hit Cleveland, Akron Area by 1 a.m. Tuesday

Cleveland, Ohio – Snow bands off Lake Erie will ramp up after 6 p.m. Sunday, dropping up to 5 inches across northeast Ohio and creating slick travel through early Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday until 1 a.m. Tuesday for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula Inland, Medina and Summit counties. While light snow during the day Sunday brings minimal impact, lake-enhanced snow will intensify this evening. Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall may develop late tonight and continue at times Monday, with totals between 3 and 5 inches and locally higher amounts where bands linger…
