First Brands Group laying off over 1,000 employees in Ohio following fraud scheme

OHIO — First Brands Group, a global automotive parts manufacturer and supplier, submitted WARN notices to the state with plans to close four plants, affecting over 1,000 employees.

  • Bowling Green facility located at 515 E. Gypsy Lane Road: 302
  • Greenville facility located at 851 Jackson St.: 302
  • Cleveland Corporate Office facility located at 127 Public Square Suite 5300: 110
  • Tiffin facility located at 1441 N. Maule Road: 407

The company declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year, which it states in the WARN Notices is the cause for the closures. However, in January, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that former executives at the company were charged with a multibillion-dollar fraud scheme.
