CANTON – A proposal to bring a rehabilitation facility to a residential area is dividing neighbors.
The former Smith Nursing Home at 2330 Penn Place NE has sat vacant for years. Now, Community Restoration Centers of Stark County has received zoning approval to transform the building into a social service facility that would house and treat people convicted of drug- and alcohol-related offenses.
