AKRON, Ohio – If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, consider checking out the 2026 Ohio Open Beatbox Battle at The Matinee in Akron’s Highland Square neighborhood.
The live competition showcases the art, athleticism and innovation of modern beatboxing (vocal percussion). Beatboxing draws from its hip-hop roots and features vocal innovation comprised of bass drops, drum pattern sounds, melodic layering and experimental sounds, according to an event news release.
