Gas prices surge in Northeast Ohio: Up 64 cents in Akron, 55 cents in Cleveland

AKRON, Ohio — Drivers in Northeast Ohio are seeing a notable jump in gas prices when compared to last week amid the war in Iran.

Gas prices in Akron have jumped 64.2 cents per gallon within the last week, bringing the city’s new average up to $3.44, according to new data released by GasBuddy early Monday.

Drivers in Cleveland are now paying an average of $3.42 after prices went up by 55.2 cents. GasBuddy says this now puts Cleveland’s gas prices 55.2 cents higher than a month ago and 52 cents more expensive than a year ago…
