An Ohio woman pleaded guilty to fraud after police accused her of using fake identities across several states to amass more than $250,000 in credit from Home Depot.

In a Wednesday, March 4 press release, the Medina Township Police Department reported that Tracy A. James of Peebles, Ohio had pleaded guilty to telecommunications fraud, a second-degree felony, in the Medina County Court of Common Pleas on Feb. 27, 2026.

The verdict came after the police performed an investigation and determined that James had defrauded Home Depot of $266,699 between 2018 and 2026. The fraud reportedly took place across more than 1,700 transactions.
