WATCH: Local 5th grader rings the bell after cancer battle

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – After a two-and-a-half year struggle battling cancer, that journey ended officially on Friday with one of the most memorable celebrations.

Levi Buxman, a fifth grader from Smithville with Down syndrome, was diagnosed with leukemia in November 2023.

Since then, he has spent more than 260 days in a hospital, including the last three Christmas Days.
