Jury weighs fate of ex-FirstEnergy execs, five years after FBI raid of Ohio official’s home

More than five years after FBI agents raided the home of then-Public Utilities Commission of Ohio Chairman Sam Randazzo, a Summit County judge dispatched a jury Tuesday to weigh the fate of the two FirstEnergy Corp. executives accused of paying him off with $4.3 million.

The alleged offenses include racketeering, bribery, forgery, telecommunications fraud, tampering with records, and conspiracy. But beneath them all is one core question.
