Man heads to prison after guilty pleas in 3 Portage cases

A Cleveland teen will spend time in prison after admitting he committed a series of felonies including aggravated robbery and possession of child sex abuse images.

Judge Laurie J. Pittman sentenced Jaydyn Douglas Akers, 18, to 7.5 to nine years in prison during a March 16 hearing in Portage County Common Pleas Court.

Akers was ruled a Tier II sex offender, which will require him to register with the sheriff of any county he lives or works every 180 days for 25 years…
