OHIO — Another round of gusty winds is expected to sweep across the region Friday, bringing widespread breezy to windy conditions as a storm system moves off to the east and south.
Gusty Winds Build Across Northern and Central Ohio
Forecast maps indicate that much of Ohio will experience wind gusts ranging from 25 to 45 mph throughout the day, with the strongest winds expected across northern and northeastern parts of the state.
Cities including Cleveland, Toledo, Akron, Youngstown, Mansfield, and Canton are likely to see gusts reaching up to 45 mph, while areas farther west and southwest such as Dayton, Springfield, and Lima may experience slightly lower gusts in the 25 to 35 mph range.
Why Winds Are Increasing Again
This latest surge in wind is tied to a departing storm system that is moving east and south of the region. As it pulls away, it creates a tight pressure gradient, which enhances wind speeds across the state.
Even though no severe weather is expected, this setup is enough to produce persistent gusty conditions that can last through much of the day Friday.
