COVENTRY — The Coventry Township Board of Trustees approved to file an objection to a petition for annexation of 1.01 acres of property in Coventry Township to become part of the City of Barberton during the March 12 board meeting.
The township was notified that Summit County Council received a petition for annexation filed by MNT13 LLC c/o Ahmed Jaber for two parcels at 1252 Robinson Ave. near the intersection of State Street.
In March 2025, trustees denied a rezoning request from Jaber for the parcels. The parcels currently contain two vacant buildings — a former gas station building and a Lawson’s store — and are zoned B-2.
