CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The parents of James Woods, the Streetsboro teen who took his own life after a person demanded money from him after he sent a compromising video of himself to someone he thought he could trust online, released a statement after a jury found Meta and YouTube liable in a social media addiction case on Tuesday.
Meta and YouTube must pay millions in damages to a 20-year-old woman after a jury decided the social media giant and video streamer designed their platforms to hook young users without concern for their well-being.
