AKRON — Akron Public Schools (APS) hosted a formal groundbreaking ceremony March 19 at the construction site of the future Pfeiffer and Miller South campus in Kenmore.
According to APS officials, this project represents a bold vision for the district, co-locating two unique educational environments onto one shared site. The new campus will house Pfeiffer Elementary (serving grades pre-kindergarten through five) alongside Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts (serving grades four through eight). This approach ensures that neighborhood primary education and specialized fine arts programming can thrive side-by-side in a state-of-the-art facility, according to APS officials.
“This groundbreaking is more than just a construction start; it’s a commitment to the future of the Kenmore community,” said APS Superintendent Mary Outley in a press release. “We want every neighbor, parent and student to join us as we turn the first shovels of dirt on a campus that will inspire Akron’s children for generations to come.”…
