Local man sentenced for 11th OVI

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – A local man has been sentenced after being found guilty of his 11th OVI conviction.

According to Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich, Johnny Deloach, 59, will spend 5 years in prison and 2 years of post-release control for a drunk driving offense that took place in 2024.

In a media release, officials said this was Deloach’s fourth Felony Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI) conviction in Ohio, and his eleventh OVI conviction overall, with prior offenses spanning from 2001 to 2021.

“Between public transit, ride-share options, and more, there is zero excuse for drunk driving in Summit County,” said Prosecutor Kolkovich in the release. “I am grateful that no one was injured or killed due to Deloach’s actions, and hopefully this sentence means he is done endangering innocent people on our streets for good.”…
