Route 8 Guardrail Crash Kills 77-Year-Old Cleveland Motorcyclist In Stow

Robert Salerno, a 77-year-old Cleveland resident, died after his motorcycle struck a guardrail while he was heading south on State Route 8 in Stow on Saturday, April 4. He was rushed to Summa Health Akron, where he later died from his injuries.

What officials say

According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, chief investigator Gary Guenther said Salerno’s motorcycle hit a guardrail at about 9:57 a.m. as he traveled southbound on SR 8. The medical examiner’s office and local reporting say Salerno was taken to Summa Health Akron and pronounced dead at 10:24 p.m., as reported by the Akron Beacon Journal.
