CLEVELAND (WJW) – A powerful storm unleashed a barrage of hail that pounded communities across Northeast Ohio on Wednesday.
“I started hearing some bizarre noises inside the house. I asked my husband if he heard it and he said, ‘yes,’ and he looked outside and said, ‘it’s hail.’ It started with just a few bouncing off the house and the windows until it became like a snow storm of hail,” said Bainbridge resident Gayle Williams.
The hail smashed through windows at office buildings in Solon, causing the kind of damage that even longtime Northeast Ohioans have not seen before.

“It started just as a heavy rain storm and then it started sounding,” Solon business owner Amy Larocca said. “I was looking out the window because it looked like snowballs were being thrown at the window and then it turned into ice balls and the outside window pane starting breaking, and then the inside started breaking and shattering all over the office.”…
