Wadsworth schools ask voters for income tax to address fiscal trouble

WADSWORTH, Ohio (WOIO) – Wadsworth City Schools will ask voters to approve a 1.5% income tax on the May 5 ballot as the district works to address financial trouble under state oversight.

The state has placed Wadsworth Schools in fiscal precaution, mandating the district develop a plan. The district’s plan includes cuts and the proposed tax.

If the tax passes, the district expects to collect roughly $13 million a year…
