Medina High School plans for Friday evening commencement

MEDINA, Ohio – In just a few weeks the Medina High School Class of 2026 will walk across the stage at Ken Dukes Stadium to receive their diplomas, but this year’s commencement ceremony will be a bit different than years past.

“A change that is coming is that we have moved commencement up from the usual Saturday morning to Friday evening,” Superintendent Aaron Sable said during an April 21 board of education meeting.

“We thought the Friday evening venue under the lights as the sun sets on our seniors would be a very cool environment for our commencement,” Sable said. “Also, this new schedule provides us more flexibility as far as a makeup time if that is necessary.”…
