AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced Monday the sentencing of a man for shooting multiple patrons at the Field House Lounge in Akron.
According to the prosecutor’s office, 22-year-old Jakel Blackwell, of Akron, was sentenced 16 to 18.5 years in prison for the shooting at Field House Lounge in 2025.
Last month, Blackwell plead no contest to the following charges:
- Three counts of felonious assault, a second degree felony with a three year firearm specification
- One count of having weapons under disability, a third degree felony
- One count of illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor permit premises, a third degree felony
In March 2025, Akron Police Department officers arrived at the Field House Lounge in Akron for a report of a shooting, and located two patrons injured on scene.
