Parents on trial for death of their 11-year-old sick son at Independence hotel

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A Warren mother and father are on trial in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, in connection with the death of their 11-year-old son.

Hunter Towne died in a room at the Extended Stay America Premier Suites on Jefferson Drive in Independence on Jan. 10, 2024.

Police said they were told Hunter suffered from Hirschsprung’s disease and other health issues since birth and that he had been sick the previous few days.

According to the medical examiner’s office, the child’s death was caused by “caregiver medical neglect.”…
