MEDINA, Ohio – As the deer population in Medina continues to grow, city officials have been researching best practices from other communities as they work to find a plan to tackle the issue locally.
“We have learned a lot so far about the issue of deer in our community,” Councilor Bill Lamb said during an April 27 council meeting. “We on council are determined to better understand the issue so we can effectively improve the overall ecology of the parks and work on a plan that is beneficial to our parks, the deer and folks in the community who have faced property damage and accidents with their cars.”
Earlier this month, the city’s special legislation committee invited representatives from both Parma and Mentor to a meeting so they could learn more about the deer management programs they have conducted in their respective communities…
